The GWO Slinger Signaller Training module is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and practical skills required to safely perform slinging and signalling activities during lifting operations in the wind industry.

The training focuses on simple and routine lifts carried out in accordance with an approved lift plan and known hazards.
​
​Through a combination of theory, hands-on practice, and scenario-based exercises, participants learn how to correctly attach and detach loads, select and inspect lifting accessories, communicate effectively with crane operators, and manage lifting operations with a strong focus on safety and human factors.
Key Skills Include:

Understanding the role and responsibilities of the Slinger Signaller during lifting operations.

Correct selection, inspection, and use of lifting accessories such as slings, shackles, and lifting points.

Safely attaching, guiding, and landing loads in accordance with lift plans.

Using standardised hand and radio signals to direct crane movements, including blind and restricted lifts.

Identifying hazards related to suspended loads, lifting zones, and dropped objects.
