The GWO Basic Technical Training – Installation Electrical module provides participants with the fundamental knowledge and practical skills required to support electrical activities during wind turbine installation.
The course covers the complete installation environment, from receiving and preparing components to electrical completion and handover to commissioning. Participants practise basic cable handling and installation activities while learning how to follow work instructions, checklists and safe working procedures.

Recognising the main stages of wind turbine installation
Understanding installation environments and associated hazards
Following installation checklists and documentation
Handling, unpacking and storing electrical components correctly
Recognising hazards associated with lifting operations
Preparing components for installation
Handling, routing and installing cables
Checking cable identification, connections and routing
Understanding the principles of electrical completion
Recognising basic hydraulic completion activities
Understanding the use of external generators during installation
Understanding the basic handover process to commissioning
The module prepares participants to perform basic electrical installation activities under the supervision of an experienced technician.
The Installation Electrical module can be completed independently or together with Installation Mechanical as a combined 16-hour training programme. The combined option requires valid GWO BTT Mechanical and GWO BTT Bolt Tightening training records.
