The GWO Basic Technical Training – Electrical module introduces participants to the fundamental principles of electricity and the electrical systems commonly found in wind turbines.
Participants learn how electrical components, circuits and sensors operate, while developing an understanding of the hazards associated with electrical work. Practical exercises allow participants to assemble simple electrical circuits, interpret electrical diagrams and perform basic measurements using the correct instruments and safe working procedures.
Key Skills Include:
Understanding the basic principles of electricity
Recognising electrical hazards and appropriate safety measures
Identifying common electrical components and their symbols
Understanding the function of different types of sensors
Reading and interpreting simple electrical diagrams
Assembling a basic electrical circuit
Using electrical measuring instruments correctly
Performing basic electrical measurements safely
The module prepares participants for further company-specific electrical training and supervised technical activities within the wind industry.
Participants must meet the general requirements described in the GWO Requirements for Training and must be able to read and write sufficiently to follow instructions and complete the required documentation.
