The GWO Fire Awareness module prepares personnel to prevent, assess, and respond to fires in wind turbine environments.
Participants learn to identify fire hazards, select appropriate extinguishing media, and safely evacuate in case of an unmanageable fire.
Key Skills Include:
Fire triangle, fire spread, and classes of fire
Use of handheld firefighting equipment (CO₂ extinguishers, fire blankets)
Fire prevention measures and hazard identification
Practical firefighting scenarios and smoke evacuation drills
This GWO Fire Awareness module ensures participants can act decisively and safely in fire-related emergencies.
Who Can Attend This Course?
This training is designed for individuals who are preparing to work in the wind industry or who need to maintain their existing certifications.
Before attending, participants should:
Be at least 18 years old on the first day of training.
Be in suitable physical condition to take part in practical exercises and safety-related activities.
Ensure their personal details are registered in the WINDA database and provide their WINDA ID before the course begins, where required.
For refresher courses, hold a current certification that remains valid until the scheduled training date.
