GWO Enhanced First Aid

The GWO Enhanced First Aid module is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and practical skills required to provide advanced first aid care in remote and high-risk wind industry environments.

Through a combination of theory, hands-on practice, and realistic scenario-based training, participants learn how to manage medical emergencies, stabilize casualties, and deliver ongoing care while awaiting professional emergency services, including the use of advanced equipment and medical teleconsultation.

Key skills include:

  • Assessing and managing medical emergencies using primary and secondary surveys

  • Providing lifesaving interventions such as CPR, bleeding control, and airway management

  • Identifying and treating serious injuries and illnesses in remote locations

  • Applying pain management principles and approved medication where applicable

  • Managing incidents safely with consideration for human factors, communication, and personal protection

This module is essential for personnel selected to perform Enhanced First Aid duties in onshore and offshore wind turbine environments where immediate professional medical support may be delayed.

Duration: 21 hours (3 days)

Validity: 2 years

The participant will receive following modules in his WINDA training record: FA, EFA
