GWO Basic Safety Training (BST)
The GWO Basic Safety Training (BST) is an internationally recognized standard designed for everyone working in the wind industry, both onshore and offshore.
This training provides the essential knowledge and practical skills needed to work safely and confidently in wind turbines and related environments. By completing the BST, participants will learn how to protect themselves and support colleagues through first aid, safe working at heights, manual handling, fire awareness, and sea survival.
In case of an emergency, you will be prepared to evacuate, perform rescues, and provide first aid, ensuring safety for yourself and your team.
The GWO Basic Safety Training course is divided into five core modules:
1. GWO Working at Heights (WAH)
Gain the skills to work safely at heights, focusing on fall prevention, correct use of safety equipment, and rescue techniques. This module is essential for anyone working on wind turbines.

2. GWO First Aid (FA)
Learn how to respond to accidents and medical emergencies in the wind industry. This includes lifesaving techniques, CPR, and the correct use of first aid equipment in remote environments.

3. GWO Manual Handling (MH)
Understand safe lifting and moving techniques to prevent injuries. This module teaches how to handle loads correctly in the challenging conditions of wind turbine operations.

4. GWO Fire Awareness (FAW)
Develop awareness of fire hazards in wind turbines, learn how to prevent them, and practice using fire-fighting equipment to respond effectively in an emergency.

5. GWO Sea Survival (SS)
Prepare for offshore conditions with training in safe transfers, survival at sea, and rescue procedures in challenging marine environments.
