Rope Access (RA)
Rope Access is an advanced method of working at height using rope-based positioning and fall protection systems. This course develops the technical competence required to safely access, position, and perform work in complex vertical and hard-to-reach environments.
The training is highly practical and physically engaging, focusing on real-life scenarios and emergency readiness.
Participants learn:
-
Introduction to PPE for rope access systems
-
Essential rope knots
-
Ascending and descending techniques (also over knots)
-
Climbing techniques for work positioning and securing
-
Movement on roof edges and elevated structures
-
Preventive fall protection methods
-
Securing tools while working at height
-
Rope anchoring techniques
-
Overcoming rope protection and sharp edges
-
Deviations and traverses
-
Rope-to-rope transfers
-
Use of basic pulley systems
This course prepares technicians to work safely in industrial facilities, towers, façades, steel structures, wind turbines, and other complex environments where rope access is required.
Participants train for emergency response situations including:
-
Rescue from suspension by controlled lowering
-
Self-rescue using personal PPE
-
Rescue from height using evacuation kits
-
First Aid fundamentals (CPR, bandaging, recovery position)
Prerequisite: Valid Working at Height Certificate
Certificate validity: 12 months.
